Many of us now have Smart TVs allowing us to watch Netflix YouTube and sometimes even browse the web in some limited fashion on our big screen TV at home. But did you know you could take this much further by connecting your Laptop or Desktop PC to the TV as well?

It's simple but can bring a full Windows Operating system to your big screen TV making your previous monitor suddenly start to question their less than substantial sizes as it subsides into jealous envy.

By having a full-power operating system on your TV you can suddenly start to unlock more entertainment potential than simply Netflix. Surf the net in style, play games or read digital books - online shopping has never felt as good as the moment you kick up your feet and navigate the net from the comfort of your couch.

The easiest way to connect your laptop to your television is with a cable that hooks into each device.

Most laptops built over the last Half-decade have an HDMI port Youll probably have a cable already connected to your TV so just have a quick look behind and see if there is one of these there:

Once plugged in, simply select SOURCE on your TV to locate that HDMI input, and you are connected.

If there is no signal coming from the PC and it is correctly connected, you may need to change the DISPLAY SETTINGS in your PC settings, (or right-click the Windows background and go to Display Settings > Display > Adjust Resolution, you can also get there by going to the Control Panel. Select the TV in the drop-down box that appears. You will also have the option of using different resolutions. Try the recommended version, but if that doesn’t appeal to you, you can fiddle with other settings. Select this video to view the easy connection and setup process. but usually, it should just start up on its own.

Hopefully, that gets your setup and running and you are now browsing and watching the Net in 50" or higher!
