Employee well-being issues are now within the overall 'duty of care' that an employer owes to its employees.  

Come along to understand employer responsibilities and gain practical management tips.

This workshop will give you an overview of employer responsibilities and best practice tips for managing the tricky issues of employee well being.

Kate Ashcroft, Partner with national specialist employment and health and safety firm Copeland Ashcroft Law, will explain the latest legal developments and their practical implications for employers, in a quick fire session with plenty of time for questions.

Rosie Mallon, Director with Smarter Works NZ, will explain these from a health perspective with practical management tips.

Personal intro:

Kate Ashcroft is an employment and health and safety lawyer.  She has specialised in these areas throughout her career, and is passionate about providing commercially pragmatic, tailored solutions to client issues.  She is recognised by the international legal directory Asia Law as a "Leading Lawyer" in New Zealand.  She regularly presents at conferences on employment and health and safety issues.  Kate acts for employers across a range of industries, giving strategic, compliance and best practice advice on non-contentious matters as well as providing representation in disputes.

Company intro: Copeland Ashcroft Law provides specialist advice, representation and support across the full ambit of employment and health and safety law, to businesses throughout New Zealand, with four offices throughout the country.

Rosie Mallon is an Occupational Therapist with a Bachelor's in Health Science (Occ Therapy); Post Graduate Diploma in Occ Health and Safety; and Graduate Diploma in Animal Assisted Therapy (The last one was just for fun!) She has 20 years' experience in the field of workplace rehabilitation, health, wellness and educating organisations about what makes up "good" workplaces.

After working in Australia for the last 14 years and working for companies who focus on providing reactive services, (ambulance at the bottom of the cliff) she decided to return to Tauranga and start her own company to help workplaces implement proactive, injury-preventing solutions. 

Rosie specialises in workplace ergonomics, manual handling training, job task analysis and matching work demands to people's capacities. She also has vast experience in managing mental health conditions in the workplace, and helping businesses support the psychological wellbeing of their workforce.

Her passion is to promote the health benefits of providing "good" workplaces that maximise employee's wellbeing and productivity to all areas of industry and business.

Cancellations must be received prior to 10.00am the day before the event or training seminar. Any cancellation and/or changes must be made in writing to  Cancellations  after this time or non attendance will require payment, however substitutions are welcome.
